In a TT Web Site Manager context, an item is simply a fragment of code which is stored in a library of such items on a database. Each item is allocated to one of the item containers, has a free text name for descriptive and identification purposes and an item type. There are several types of item, depending upon the type of code that the item is intended to contain, as well as the type of functionality.
